Mourning at the iwis Group for the death of the long-standing Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board: Dr. Gerd Sachs passes away

Munich, October 2024. It is with great sadness that we announce that Dr. Gerd Sachs, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board of the iwis group for many years, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 27, 2024 at the age of 76 after a long and serious illness. We wish the family and loved ones much strength for the difficult hours and the time ahead.
Dr. Gerd Sachs, co-owner of Bankhaus Max Flessa KG in Schweinfurt, had been a member of the iwis Group's Advisory Board since 1998, taking on the role of Chairman of the Advisory Board in 2014 and additionally the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board from 2021. He stepped down from both positions in 2023, but remained an honorary member of the iwis Advisory Board until the end.
His death leaves a huge gap - both personally and professionally. He supported iwis with great passion and a lot of heart.
We are delighted that Dr. Gerd Sachs was still able to experience the 100th anniversary of his bank in September.
