MEGAlife Roller chains
Long service life, low maintenance effort, reliable performance
MEGAlife maintenance-free roller and conveyor chains are designed for demanding applications where long service life and low maintenance effort are key requirements. Depending on the operating conditions, they can achieve a service life of up to three times that of standard roller chains. This enables longer replacement intervals and can help reduce maintenance-related downtime and operating costs.
At iwis, “maintenance-free” means that no scheduled relubrication of the chain joint is required during the intended service life, provided the chain is used as intended and within the specified operating limits. Inspections, other maintenance activities and replacement due to wear remain necessary.
The special MEGAlife joint design therefore enables operation without scheduled relubrication of the chain joint. The dry chain surface also helps reduce the risk of contamination caused by escaping lubricant. High wear resistance and additional corrosion protection make MEGAlife particularly suitable for applications where relubrication is not possible or only possible to a limited extent.

MEGAlife roller and conveyor chains for long operating times and low maintenance effort
MEGAlife roller and conveyor chains are designed for demanding applications where long operating times, high wear resistance and low maintenance effort are required. The special joint design enables operation without scheduled relubrication of the chain joint when used as intended and within the specified operating limits. This makes MEGAlife chains particularly suitable for areas that are difficult to access as well as for applications where relubrication is undesirable or only possible to a limited extent.

Inspections, other maintenance activities and replacement due to wear remain necessary. The reduced relubrication requirement and longer replacement intervals can help reduce maintenance effort, maintenance-related downtime and operating costs.
Maintenance-free chains are supplied either dry or ready-treated with special-purpose lubricant, depending on application. The roller chains have a seamless sintered bush made of a material specially developed for this application, which is hardened and treated to optimize its tribological properties. The pin has a wear-resistant, friction-optimized coating, and the surface of the seamless roller is corrosion- and wear-resistant.
