From the very Beginning: Top Performance
Drive chains are continuously subjected to mixed friction, high surface pressure, and, in some cases, shock loads during operation. They also often have to withstand aggressive environmental conditions and extreme temperatures. Sufficient and effective lubrication of the chain joints significantly increases the service life of the chains.
The correctly selected lubricant and appropriate lubrication method ensure effective wear reduction, adequate corrosion protection, and optional damping properties. Countless tests on specially developed testing equipment and close cooperation with renowned lubricant manufacturers make iwis a reliable partner for all questions relating to chain lubrication.
Discover the wide range of lubricants from iwis
iwis offers the right initial lubricant for a wide variety of applications.
In addition to standard chain oils, our lubrication portfolio includes high-performance lubricants, high-temperature lubricants and chain waxes.
Chain waxes are applied not only to minimize wear in the chain joints, but also to provide effective protection against dirt and particle contamination.
All initial lubricants are specially developed by iwis and optimally formulated to match the specific requirements of our chains.

Initial Lubricants by JWIS
IP2
Standard lubricant with good lubricating properties and outstanding corrosion resistance for all applications.
IP3
Long-term lubricant for high-speed applications, absolutely non-drip and non-splash.
IPW
High-performance lubricating wax with good adhesion; very high wear protection permits significantly longer relubrication intervals. Unproblematic use in all environments where dust and powder are present.
IP4
Thermally stable high-temperature lubricant that provides good protection against wear and corrosion.
IP9
Corrosion protection for preservation with minimal lubricating effect.
IP14+
Dry lubricant for slow-running chain drives and low to medium loads.
IP16
Food-grade lubricant with good wear and corrosion resistance. Meets the stringent requirements of USDA‑H1 and LMBG.
IP0
Low-temperature lubricant with optimum lubricating effect. Free-flowing across entire temperature range.
