MEGAlife maintenance-free roller and conveyor chains are designed for applications where regular relubrication is not possible, undesirable or can only be carried out with considerable effort. They are particularly suitable for applications with difficult access for maintenance work and for operating environments where a dry chain surface is advantageous.

At iwis, “maintenance-free” means that no scheduled relubrication of the chain joint is required during the intended service life, provided the chain is used as intended and within the specified operating limits. Inspections and other maintenance measures, as well as replacement due to wear, remain necessary.

The special MEGAlife chain joint design combines a sintered bush developed specifically for this application with a surface-treated pin. This enables wear performance designed for long service life without scheduled relubrication.

Nickel-plated individual components support corrosion protection. At the same time, MEGAlife chains offer high fatigue and breaking strength and are designed for a temperature range of –40 °C to +150 °C.

The reduced need for relubrication can help reduce maintenance effort and maintenance-related downtime. Depending on the specific application and operating conditions, MEGAlife chains can be supplied with the integrated lubrication provided for the product or with an additional special lubricant.
