Plate Top Chains
Plate-top chains are a hybrid of steel roller chains and plastic plates – and an ingenious way of combining the advantages of both materials. Plate-top chains use specially adapted high-quality ELITE roller for tensile force transmission. The product load is borne by plastic flights that are custom-designed for the respective application, enabling the use of the dry running characteristics of a plastic-to-plastic pairing.

Bringing together the advantages of steel and plastic
Plate-top chains are based on roller chains with extended pins, sizes ANSI40 and ANSI60, from the ELITE product range. All ELITE initial lubricants can be used for basic lubrication. Our iwiDUR lubricant is used for applications that require wax lubrication.
By combining plastic plates and a steel roller chain, the dual benefits – the high breaking loads of roller chains and the smooth surface of plastic components – can be used to optimum advantage. iwis provides a comprehensive plate-top chain range under the FLEXON brand. Suitable accessories such as sprockets and chain guides are also available.
