At iwis, sustainability is part of our long-term corporate development and increasingly integrated into strategic and operational decision-making.
As an industrial B2B company, we operate within global value chains. Environmental, social and governance-related impacts therefore arise across different stages of our business activities – from materials and suppliers to our own operations and the application of our products.
Our approach is to identify relevant sustainability topics systematically, establish appropriate governance structures and progressively integrate them into business processes and management decisions.
The strategic framework of the iwis Group is based on our ESG principles and the programmes ZeroCarbon 2040, ReCircle 2040 and oneiwis 2040.

ZeroCarbon 2040
Climate management across the value chain
ZeroCarbon 2040 provides the strategic framework for our climate-related activities.
Our approach covers greenhouse gas emissions from our own operations as well as relevant emissions along the value chain.

ReCircle 2040
Material efficiency and circular approaches
Materials play an important role in our products, production processes and upstream value chain.
With ReCircle 2040, we are developing our approach to material efficiency and circular economy.
Key areas include:
- efficient use of materials
- reduction and management of production waste
- recycling and secondary materials
- consideration of circularity in product development
- analysis of material flows
- cooperation with suppliers on material-related topics
Our approach takes technical requirements, product quality, customer requirements and the respective application into account.

Responsibility in the supply chain
Responsible supply chain management is an integral part of our ESG governance.
With oneiwis 2040, we are developing our processes for identifying, assessing and managing human rights, environmental and compliance-related risks within our supply chain.
Our approach includes:
