iwis awarded INQA audit entry-level certificate

Having successfully completed the first phase of the INQA audit “Future-oriented corporate culture” within the framework of the Initiative Neue Qualität der Arbeit (Initiative New Quality of Work, or INQA for short) programme, iwis has been awarded the corresponding entry-level certificate.

iwis is one of the first 100 participants in the pilot scheme of the INQA audit “Future-oriented corporate culture”. The programme helps companies and administrative organisations to determine how future-oriented their organisational and personnel policies are and where there is room for potential improvements.

The auditing process, which began in autumn 2015, included an anonymous survey of employees and management to determine what measures are already in place and where changes are required. An internal project group, consisting of employees drawn from all sections of the company, was specially set up and subsequently drafted a concrete plan for development and future measures. Angela Fauth-Herkner, who is a process supervisor during the audits, is pleased to see such commitment: “It was obvious even at the start of the INQA audit that Joh. Winklhofer Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG had already done some outstanding work prior to the audit, but had nevertheless also set itself some ambitious targets. The challenge for us is to take up where they left off, ensure a seamless continuation of the process that has already started, and to communicate the opportunities on offer clearly to all employees.”

The project group has identified a total of 27 measures to be taken in the areas Knowledge & Competency, Equal Opportunities and Diversity, Health and Personnel Management.  One such measure involves the organisational structure of corporate health management, which needs to be adjusted to satisfy the requirements of the shift system. The agreed measures should be implemented by the end of the year at the latest. Stella Bodensteiner says: “The INQA audit is particularly attractive because of its direct involvement of employees from all sections of the company in the development process. This diverse approach, in turn, helps us to take the respective requirements into account and work together on the creation of a common mission statement.”

At the end of the two-stage audit, the participating organisations and companies will be awarded a certificate of completion.  The audit is a service provided by the Initiative New Quality of Work (INQA); it is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and was developed in close collaboration between the Bertelsmann Foundation, the charity Demographie Netzwerk e.V. (ddn) and the “Great Place to Work” Institute.
