Bavarian Best 50: iwis smart connect recognized as one of the best companies in Bavaria

iwis smart connect has received the "Bavarian Best 50" award. The Bavarian state government awards the prize to the 50 fastest-growing SMEs that are firmly committed to their location in Bavaria and have seen above-average growth in both sales and the size of the workforce in recent years. The award ceremony took place on the 22nd of July in Schleißheim Palace. iwis smart connect is active in the fields of high-precision stamping and bending technology, in particular in the area of electrical connection technology, press-fit technology, IDC insulation displacement connectors and MCS contact technology.

iwis employs 1400 staff in Bavaria, spread over the production plants in Munich, Landsberg, Kaufbeuren and Rieden. Considerable investment and innovations with new products and process technologies have allowed the company to make a contribution to strengthening Bavaria and Germany as a business location in recent years. From its own company kindergarten and educational charity to support for local schools and universities, the company has a long tradition of social engagement and is firmly rooted in its community. Furthermore, iwis takes a proactive approach to the training and further education of its employees. Currently, there are more than 100 trainees engaged in successful training programmes in Bavaria.

iwis smart connect is a specialist for electrical connecting technology for automotive and non-automotive applications. More and more vehicles are being equipped with products from iwis smart connect in the field of autonomous driving (sensors) or e-mobility (battery contact systems). And the photovoltaic industry too relies heavily on connectors from iwis smart connect.

iwis is also the world leader in innovative, cost-effective timing drive systems based on precision chains. Virtually all car manufacturers throughout the world are supplied with a total of 60,000 systems each day from plants in Munich, Landsberg, Pinghu and Murray. In addition to the automotive industry, iwis acts as a market leader in supplying precision roller chains to the mechanical engineering and plant construction industries across the globe. The chains are used in the printing and paper industry, packaging industry and conveyor technology, as well as in general engineering and the agricultural machinery industry.
